Thread: Fonts in murgaLua (or FLTK)
Post: RE: Fonts in murgaLua (or FLTK)

Both of those examples are in murgaLua syntax, so should work as is. They both change the built-in courier font constant to your desired font (4 is equivalent to fltk.FL_COURIER). Then to use it, jus...

Post: RE: io.write() vs. my_output:write()

Thanks for the explanation. I had a feeling that it was opening a standard output, but some tests made me wonder. For example, if you do this:
io.output("filename.txt") print("some text")[/co...

Soooo.....does it work? Anyone have any feedback on whether (and how) it can be made better, more efficient/portable? The dirname variable on my local copy has been changed to 'd' to avoid confusion...

current state is still not ideal, but it handles one or two of the issues the previous it had. I would still love to be able to test for various filename extensions using regualr expressions rather t...

As I said I don't have any idea if it works on Windows or Mac, but it *should* do the same on Linux and MacOS...grab everything from the beginning of a string to the final slash (i haven't thought to ...

The dirname function is not as reliable as I had hoped. It worked fine with my preliminary test, but when testing a few possible variations (such as running the script in the current directory) it fai...

I think it depends on how much formatting you need. MurgaLua provides the Fl_Browser classes, which can perform limited formatting such as colored/bold/italics/monospace text, but if you want much mor...

An update on the dynamic menus. You can use Fl_Menu_Bar:find_item(my_menu_item_string) to get a pointer to a specific menu item, which is much more pleasant than trying to determine the index of a pa...

  Thread: Changing background image of main window?
Post: RE: Changing background image of main window?

It seems as though Fl_Window does not support the image method. You can fake it by adding my_background=fltk:Fl_Box(0,0,window_width,window_height) immediately after defining the window (so all other ...

Post: RE: Browser Interaction with URLs

FLTK functions in murgaLua must be called with "fltk.<function>". Otherwise you'll get a nil value. This is what I did:
fltk.fl_open_uri("http://localhost")
and got my local server loaded...
